Therapy for Generational Trauma
You had a pretty good childhood and all your basic needs were taken care of. But as you’ve gotten older, you’ve started to see some dysfunctional dynamics and it has been a pretty difficult season now that you have more understanding of your families way of functioning. Maybe you have tried talking to your parent or child and it hasn’t gone too well but you are determined to work through these issues. Together we can work through these primary attachments and relational dynamics that didn’t start with you. Doing this takes time and understanding, but the healing it can bring to families is so powerful.
Therapy for Parents.
Let’s face it, you really didn’t understand the depths that parenting would take a toll on your relationship. Throughout each stage there are different challenges, differences of opinion on parenting, disconnection, and the exhaustion is just too much. But you want more and just aren’t sure how to bridge the gap between you two. I help couples throughout each stage of their parenting journey. From the challenges of getting pregnant or the struggles same sex couples face getting pregnant into to pregnancy and through birth. Then into infancy, toddlerhood, childhood, teenage years, adulthood and into the empty nest phase. I help couples become intentional about their relationship and learn to grow with each other as teammates so they are a united front. Because your goal is to be better than your parents and to give your child a model of what a healthy loving relationship looks like.
Therapy for Divorce
This decision did not come easy and is not taken lightly. You have decided that this decision is the best for you two and you would like to bring this to your families attention. It can be so scary. What will this even look like? How can we support our children through this process? We will talk about what ending well looks like and what steps need to be taken in order to do this in the healthiest way possible.
Therapy for Blending Families
It’s time to move in together and blend our two families and it feels overwhelming! Sometimes your kids may not all get along and the household rules and parenting styles might be different. We can work together to create structure, boundaries, and ways to communicate about these things to foster a smooth transition.
